Blinded In Certain Places

So He took the blind man…and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, I see men like trees, walking.” Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town.” Mark 8:23 - 26

Here we have a man, that unlike the man in John 9:1 wasn't born blind.  At some point, this man could see because Mark 8:24 says, “And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” If he was blind from birth, he wouldn’t have known what a tree or a man looked like.  So when Jesus restores his sight, He tells the man 'Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town'. But why?  There was something or someone in that town that had robbed him of his ‘vision’ and ‘sight’.  You see vision is different from sight.  Vision is what ‘God shows you’ and sight is merely ‘seeing with your eyes’. And unfortunately, something - in that place - had robbed him of both.  Somewhere along the way, it robbed him of the vision God had for his life.

Some of you can’t see yourself doing what God has shown you and it’s because you’re in the wrong place. You're amongst people that don't see the person God wants you to become.  You still hang with folks that turn up when you really see yourself turning down that Cush, that Patrizi, and that man that isn't your husband.  But you remain in that place, on that dead end job, in that church where you aren't growing spiritually and it's robbing you of God's vision of the big things He's shown you you'll do.  But you keep trying to do it in that place and quite honestly; nobody, including yourself can see you doing it - THERE.

In order for you to live the life God's created you to, You just might have to leave your hometown. The ‘vision’ He’s given you is ‘for an appointed time’ (Hab 2:3); but more importantly, as 2 Samuel 7:10 puts it, it’s for an appointed place

Pray this with me:  Heavenly Father, I ask You to show me my place; personally and professionally; in ministry and in business.  Show me those people, places, and habits that robbed me of Your vision for my life. Please restore my vision and I ask You for the grace to do all You've created me to.  In Jesus’ name.
